Largest Non-Affiliated Lighting Supplier in North America Deploys WinSPC Software to Assure the Highest Customer Satisfaction and Value in Its Market
The manufacturer chose to implement WinSPC throughout its North American operations as part of its effort to drive preventative quality control measures. Engineers plan to reduce product variation by gaining real-time visibility into quality data. Specific project requirements include:
- Automatically generate on-screen alerts and emails for non-conformances
- Ability to track data by date code and time
- Real-time charts
- Easily generate capability reports
- Perform gauge R&R
- Create and print summary reports
The company intends to initially perform 20 different quality tests on its lamp and lamp housing dimensions. Using the Blueprint interface, it will embed a digital image of its products directly in WinSPC, giving operators a visual guide through the inspection and data collection process.
The system previously used by the company to manage manufacturing data was found to be difficult to administer and make changes to. In addition, it didn’t support the locking down of user security or meet change control and other traceability requirements.
The company selected WinSPC for its ease of use and ability to produce fast, real-time capability reports. It plans to roll out the solution using Microsoft Terminal Services, enabling IT resources to quickly and easily administer and maintain the software.
